Of course this is the solution when we have fallen from the roof taking down the Christmas lights, or come down with pneumonia. But just from my limited experience I know that us mere mortals can be cut in far deeper ways than simply being careless with an Exacto blade while cutting and mounting comps (only happened once so far, but it probably won’t be the last. Satin IconsWhenever I am designing or redesigning a web site, I typically find that I want to use icons in the design. I’m sure there must be times where the use of iconography would be ill advised, but I haven’t come across those projects. Icons just do so much work in terms of communication, that using them correctly makes a site easier to use, let alone giving a site increased visual interest. (more…)

Making ConnectionsThere are many instances in advertising and promotion where designers need to express ways in which people, places, and/or ideas are connected. Take for instance any cell phone maker or service. Of course we can do more and more things on our cell phones these days like playing games (68,346 is my high score on Tetris in case you were wondering :D) but the whole point of the phone is to easily connect and converse with others. Easy to Use Technology Stock Photos

Easy Camera UseI have worked for a few web and technology companies and when these companies are trying to reach the average person I will inevitably have to use a specific type of image, the “easy to use” product shot. Now of course if your creative requires showing a specific and tangible product you would shoot the product yourself. But if your products is more abstract like software that makes digital photography easier, or a web app that tracks statistics, then a stock photo can probably do the job and save time. (more…)
