Often times when we hear of someone hurting and in pain we typically think of modern medicine as the solution required for healing. Of course this is the solution when we have fallen from the roof taking down the Christmas lights, or come down with pneumonia. But just from my limited experience I know that us mere mortals can be cut in far deeper ways than simply being careless with an Exacto blade while cutting and mounting comps (only happened once so far, but it probably won’t be the last. Ouch!). Mental and even spiritual wounds can all but steal the life from someone if left untreated.

Originally for this post I was going to present stock photos that only explored healing the body, but after thinking more on the topic I realized that healing is not unique to the doctor’s office or operating room, but extends to places like a psychiatrists office for working through past mental trauma or even alone on the beach in prayer to find rest for a weary soul. Because of this, below you will see stock photos that can be used for projects such as hospital direct mail, mental health clinic newsletters or church retreat web collateral. I hope that if you are searching for medical stock photos this will be an excellent starting (and if I have done my job, stopping) point for you.

For the following photos I was primarily looking for images of people being healed in one form or another. I did however include some images that had a strictly medical feel since I thought these would probably be most sought after when looking for stock on this topic. And as always I selected photos that showed depth of composition as well as “told a good story”.
